醍醐大酒店的金经理和孙秘书到碧云寺请了缘师父为酒店指导沙门素菜制作。大酒店的歌手刘倩影携女儿蔓蔓也来到碧云寺，想请师父帮鉴定父亲临终前留下的传家宝——太平秋锁。在大酒店，了缘经不住苦劝参加了日本僧人玄光相邀的擂台赛，但他有意败北。玄光看出了其中意境，愈加佩服了缘的修为。一直窥视宝锁的张德锁感到了缘将会威胁自己的盗锁计划，在偷锁不成之后，将孩子偷走，了缘出手相助，制服了张德锁。通过这些事件，了缘进一步修养了自己的佛性。。During the cold and rainy off-season a man arrives in a seaside town and, giving his name only as Pierre, checks into the only hotel which remains open. His arrival arouses curiosity and a degree of suspicion, as people note that he appears to know the area, yet gives no explanation for his presence at that bleak time of year in the dead-end town.。
