Vishal (Ajay Devgan), a stock analyst, and his wife Swati (Urmila Matondkar). The two are in search for a flat in Mumbai. Vishal finds the perfect place on the 12th floor of a high-rise apartment building. However, the apartment has a horrifying past. The previous occupant of the flat, a young woman had killed her child and jumped from the balcony and died. Swati learns about this incident shortly after moving in and becomes oddly fixated with the story. Then, a series of inexplicable experiences drive Swati to near madness. Vishal becomes helpless and convinced his wife has developed some sort of psychological disorder. He consults a psychiatrist, Dr. Rajan (Victor Banerjee). The couple's maid (Seema Biswas) believes Swati to be possessed, and calls in an exorcist (Rekha). Meanwhile, other seemingly unrelated events take place around the building. The watchman (Sabeer Masani) is being terrorized, one of the residents Sanjay (Fardeen Khan) is behaving erratically, and a murder occurs. Inspector Liaqat Quereshi (Nana Patekar) is sent to investigate the murder at the building. All the while, neither the psychiatrist nor the exorcist makes much progress with Swat。台湾省电影制片厂出品原创音乐：骆明道摄影：周业兴林赞庭剪辑：周道淳林善良美术设计：张季平三世轮回的情缘，从古代、民初到现代，从贵族、戏班、到市井小民，集结当年红极一时的彭雪芬、姜厚任及石隽，铺叙出两男一女的跨世爱情悲剧。 本片由人死后再投生，轮回三世，冤冤相报的三段故事组成。《第一世》描述明朝锦衣卫高手，奉命护送一官员之女赴京，嫁给锦衣卫右都督作侍妾。途中他为将美女占为己有，杀尽随行人员，掳美女入山隐居。美女的未婚夫为义军首领，为救未婚妻，一直尾随于后。在山中经过一场恶斗，将锦衣卫双眼刺瞎，美女及未婚夫亦惨死于锦衣卫之手。《第二世》描写民国初年，一个戏班正当经营遇到困难，无法维持之际，得到一富家公子的大力协助。公子与戏班花旦，初见时即感曾在冥冥中相识。两人一见钟情，以身相许。公子之母坚决反对儿子娶戏子为妻。花旦的师兄已暗恋师妹...。繁华的国际大都会香港闹市中心，口若悬河的洪家宝（陈百祥 饰）带着傻乎乎的小弟麦交（邵国华 饰）公然行窃，结果路上遭遇妙龄女郎嘉嘉（张艾嘉 饰）举报。虽然两人百般抵赖，但在最后关头漏了马脚，被警察关进监狱。令洪、麦意想不到的是，嘉嘉居然是监狱的辅导官，所谓冤家路窄，洪家宝真是窝了一肚子火。二人所在的牢房狱霸横行，为了逃出对方魔爪，他们不惜羞辱监狱长官。经过一段时间牢狱之灾，二人和狱中认识的伙伴冠仁（胡大为 饰）出狱。谁知他们死性不改，骗吃骗喝再度锒铛入狱，这次又撞上了有着一副好皮囊、爱装警察的小混混荣仔（张国荣 饰）。 洪家宝大骂荣仔，意想不到的是荣仔的老姐居然就是洪的仇敌嘉嘉……。
