高森美由紀の小説「ジャパン・ディグニティ」を映像化した本作は、青森の伝統工芸である津軽塗、通称“バカ塗り”をテーマにした物語。何をやってもうまくいかず自信を持てない青木美也子が、津軽塗職人の寡黙な父・清史郎との暮らしの中で津軽塗に改めて向き合い、自分の進む道を見つけていくさまが描かれる。。Tom Riley and Jackson Scott escape their Alien Abductors and learn that they are engaged in a war with another alien species and the battleground is earth. Unless Tom and Jackson can unite them, the galaxy is doomed. Along the way, with the help of Tom's upgraded Drop-U-Off van, they meet a host of characters that may or may not help them in their efforts.。
