就读于英知大学的世次爱（工藤美樱饰），遇到了被丢弃在垃圾场的美丽女子古桥琴叶（尾碕真花饰）。爱把捉摸不清的琴叶邀请到自己家里，以此为契机想和她成为朋友，但是这个提议被无情地拒绝了，并且爱知道了琴叶是改名后的名字。那样的琴叶代替提议的是，在猜中她真正的名字之前做“恋人”。然后， 在临时开始的交往中，如果猜中了她的本名，就会按照约定成为“朋友”，这是一个奇妙的赌注。爱没有后退，决定赌上这个赌注，和琴叶以“恋人”的身份笨拙地加深关系，但隐藏在她名字里的过去对现在露出獠牙...。"Daughters of the Dust" tells the story of a family of African-Americans who have lived for many years on a Southern offshore island, and of how they come together one day in 1902 to celebrate their ancestors before some of them leave for the North. The film is narrated by an unborn child, and ancestors already dead also seem to be as present as the living.。Young people use music to express their new awareness of life and generational opposition to their parents, as well as to protest the social and political climate in East Germany.
