马大帅是土生土长的马家堡村民，因自作主张把女儿马小翠许配给村长儿子，遭遇女儿逃婚，只得进城找女儿。马小翠投奔的是在娱乐城当保镖的自家舅舅范德彪，而马大帅进城后却遭遇一系列倒霉事，丢了钱包地址，只得流落街头当街卖艺，又被抓到拘留所。范德彪得知后前来解救马大帅出来，带他去娱乐城，见到已经在歌舞厅打工的马小翠，但马小翠执意不肯回去，马大帅只好留下打工替小翠还彩礼钱，一系列啼笑皆非的故事随着马大帅进城而展开……。This would definitely not have been my kind of movie, but my husband saw it on TV and said it was really good. So, on his recommendation, I bought a copy, since I didn't know if it would ever be on TV again. I had never heard of anybody in it except Armand Assante. At first I had a hard time getting into the story, because the first part of the movie is a jumble of images-- and...。
